Case Study 4: Graduate Development Programme
Background Context:
A group of graduates in an international company who have a programme of development over 12 months.
The Need:
To introduce emotional intelligence as a framework for self development and reflection within the context of a personal development programme over 12 months in various locations within the company.
The EQ Intervention including features of delivery:>
- Assessments of Emotional Intelligence (using the BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory, or EQ-i) were made at the beginning and end of the programme.
- A group emotional intelligence profile was computed at the beginning and end of the programme.
- An initial one-day workshop was planned for sharing Emotional Intelligence results followed by four morning meetings, over a 6-month period. These meetings focused on relevant themes customized to the work of the participants.
- 4 hours of coaching were provided to each person including support to take follow up actions.
The Results:
- The recomputation of the group emotional intelligence profile confirmed that there was a highly significant increase in Emotional Quotient (EQ).
- Each person grew in self-confidence and in their leadership capacity through having very specific support in growing their self awareness.
Testimonials
Thoughout the programme, Eqi components have been useful for further development. It definitely will have impact in the future.
An incredible learning experience which assists in focusing on areas that easily can be forgotten if there isn't a forum available.
Ei has played a massive part in my development during the last year, both as an individual and a team member. I have been challenged and provided with support to achieve my goals. I have learnt a phenomenal amount this year and Eqi was a key component to it - thank you.
I'm certain as individuals and as a group, we have evolved and improved as a direct result of identifying our EQ-i components and we are much more aware of how how we can practically use our learnings in life.
